Byron Kim is known for paintings that are rooted in minimal abstraction but operate on a conceptual level. Born in La Jolla CA in 1961, the honesty and freshness Kim brings to abstract painting distinguish him as one of the most important artists of his generation. He received numerous awards and his work has been exhibited across the United States, Asia and Europe.
SLIDE TALK: Susanna Coffey
Susanna Coffey is interested in representations of the feminine within the history of Painting. In her portraits and self portraits she uses the head as a metaphor or icon that is central to the interpretation of the other elements portrayed. She is represented by Tibor DeNagy in NYC, the Maya Polasky Gallery, Chicago and the Alpha Gallery in Boston.
EXHIBITION: FAWC Former Fellows Year 1990-1991
Joel Janowitz’s paintings and prints investigate environments affected by weather and time both observed and interpreted. He has had over 30 one-person shows and his work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Currently he teaches at Wellesley College and is represented by the Victoria Munroe Gallery in Boston.
