SHANKPAINTER 47: 2006-2007

DANIEL KHALASTCHI

HOW WE FOUND WATER:

You carried on your back had been bruised.  Green and blue lightly you moved with short steps.  We came to a clearing fell open ahead.  You handed me your hands were dry in your pockets.  Before night was coming on slow from the east.  We gathered dry brush grew in ladders around us.  You started a fire had been through recently you said.  We laid down in the soil you pointed to tracks.  They stretched across the clearing we heard breaths in the bushes.  You came to me your color was healthy.  Sick for weeks you studied to eat in the wild.  When dark it closed finally we were together alone.  By the fire threw your body tall in a shadow.  You asked for water to wash your hands made small fists as you ran the dark screaming.
