Free Classes and Discounts in FAWC Fall Program

As part of the Campus Provincetown effort, the Fine Arts Work Center again this year offers a six-week semester of Fall weekend classes in the visual arts, creative writing, memoir and poetry. The Fall 2001 Weekend Workshops will run each consecutive weekend beginning on October 6, 2001 through November 11, 2001. There will be a total of eighteen weekend courses over the six-week term.

The classes will be taught on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Provincetown High School. Many Outer Cape based artists and writers such as Paul Bowen, Jim Peters, Melanie Braverman, Marian Roth, and Bob Bailey will teach courses. Other faculty members will include Olga Broumas, Cynthia Huntington, Marcie Hershman, Peter Madden, Michael Burkard, Tony Hoagland, Louise Rafkin, Liz Rosenberg, Gail Mazur, Paul Lisicky, Michael Klein, Joel Janowitz and Richard McCann.

The Fall 2001 FAWC Workshops are a direct out growth of the Work Center's Summer Workshop Program and its involvement with the Campus Provincetown effort to use education to help stimulate the off-season economy in Provincetown.

Another direct benefit of the Campus Provincetown effort is top provide educational offerings to high school seniors at Provincetown High School, as well as to the educational faculty and staff. The Work Center is making one free class available to all incoming high school seniors at Provincetown High School. In addition, the Work Center is offering 50% discounts to teachers and staff in the Provincetown Public Schools.
