Meadow Road: Affordable Housing for Artists

Meadow Road will offer exceptionally well designed one, two, and three bedroom homes, and five non-residential artist studios, in a thoughtfully planned neighborhood in Provincetown's West End. Half of the 36 homes offer artist studio space.

Construction has begun with Phase One occupancy projected to be Spring 2005. The Fine Arts Work Center will acquire five of the live/workspaces to own and operate as affordable housing for former Work Center Fellows participating in FAWC's Long-Term Residency Program. Also, the Work Center will create a new program to award grants of up to $2,000 toward down payments to artists and writers, helping them to purchase the other affordable live/work units. Any artist or writer who is income-eligible for affordable homeownership will be able to apply for the FAWC down-payment grant program; it will not be limited to those who have participated in other Work Center programs.

Market rate homes from $425,000 to $700,000. Non-residential artist studios from $55,000 to $70,000. For floor plans and additional information, contact Jim Pipilas at 508.487.2426 ext. 4# or jpipilas@chrgroup.net.

Affordable homes from $92,500 to $127,500 are available to qualifying applicants through lottery process. Contact Khristine Hopkins at 508.487.2426 ext. 3#.
