Highlands Center

The National Park Service, through the Cape Cod National Seashore, has begun to develop the Highlands Center in North Truro on the abandoned 110-acre former Air Force base. FAWC was selected as one of the initial program partners in that project. We envision converting one of the 5,000-square-foot barracks buildings into artist/writer studios and making them available to those living on the Outer Cape on a year-round basis for an affordable studio fee. Current plans estimate that this project will be operational sometime in 2006-2007.
