The 2004-2005 Visual Arts Fellows will have an exhibition of their work at Shreve, Crump & Low, Boston’s premier jewelry store. The exhibition is scheduled to open January 2005 at Shreve's second-floor gallery in their main building, located on the corner of Arlington and Boylston Streets in Boston’s Back Bay.
"We are very happy to host the FAWC fellows this winter," says Shreve’s president and CEO Merritt W. Mayher. "Their work represents some of the best contemporary art by emerging artists in the country today and we are happy to have them on display in the store. I am sure our customers will enjoy this exhibition."
Shreve, Crump & Low has the distinction of being the oldest jewelry store in America. In 1796, silversmith and watchmaker John McFarlane opened a jewelry salon that was to become Boston’s most famous luxury goods store. The company grew quickly in the next century and was incorporated in 1869, with Benjamin Shreve serving as its first president. Shreve, Crump & Low is now an icon and continues to serve generations of Bostonians with the highest
standards of quality, service and integrity.
