WHAT TO BRING
- Visual artists: art supplies are difficult to obtain in Provincetown. Most visual arts instructors supply a materials list; plan to bring all supplies with you. Please study your course description carefully for materials you will need.
- Writers: bring your laptop, if you have one. Remember to bring discs or memory sticks; our printers are on a closed system and can not be used with plug-ins. Our writing lab is furnished with Macintosh and PC computers and printers, and likely to be busy during peak hours. Copying is available at the Work Center, but for your own convenience, be sure to bring sufficient copies of your work for everyone in your workshop.
- Residential students: Bring sheets (full), towels, and toiletries. Apartments do not have telephones.
- Everyone: a bathing suit. There are miles of beautiful beaches on the Outer Cape's National Seashore, and the bay is right down the street from the Work Center.
- Bicycles are the best mode of transportation in Provincetown, and there are spectacular bike trails through the dunes to the beaches. If you can, bring your bike.
FOOD
The Work Center provides morning coffee, pastry and fruit daily at 8:30 am. On Sunday night there is a welcome BBQ for all students - it is not required to bring anything. On Tuesdays, we will arrange for a noontime group lunch at a modest additional cost. On Thursday, there is a potluck BBQ for students, faculty and friends. Within easy walking distance, a dozen excellent establishments serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Provincetown is known for its fine restaurants. Vegetarian meals are available and many restaurants feature fresh seafood.
