GETTING TO PROVINCETOWN

  • BY AIR: Cape Air flies direct from Boston's Logan Airport to Provincetown Airport at Race Point. The 25-minute flight is beautiful in clear weather. Call 800-352-0714 or 508-771-6944 for information. www.flycapeair.com
  • BY BOAT: The Provincetown III Ferry (passengers only) makes three 90-minute (express) trips daily from Boston during the summer months only. The Provincetown II Ferry (passengers only) offers one three-hour voyage on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in summer from Boston. Bay State Cruise Co. in Boston: 617-748-1428; in Provincetown: 508-487-9284 (in season only). www.baystatecruisecompany.com. Boston Harbor Cruises also offers a high-speed ferry that makes several trips from Boston daily: 617-227-4321 or 877-733-9425; www.bostonharborcruises.com .
  • BY BUS: Regular bus service from NYC, Boston and Providence is economical and almost as fast as driving. Plymouth & Brockton Bus Co.: 508-746-0378 or 508-746-4795; www.p-b.com.
  • BY CAR: Provincetown is at the extreme tip of Cape Cod, and the eastern terminus of Route 6. The Fine Arts Work Center is located at 24 Pearl Street. (Turn left off of Rte. 6 at stoplight, onto Conwell Street. Turn left at stop sign onto Bradford. Take the first left onto Pearl and the first left into our parking lot.) Driving time from Boston is about 2 1/2 hours; from New York about six hours.
GETTING AROUND PROVINCETOWN

Provincetown is a walking town, but there are also taxi services, shuttle buses, and car and bicycle rentals available. The National Seashore has many miles of paved bicycle trails through the woods and dunes to the beaches.
