EVENTS AND TIMES TO REMEMBER
WEEKLONG WORKSHOPS: SCHEDULE
SUNDAY
- Check-in for FAWC residential students from 4–6 pm in
Summer Program Office
(Please note: We cannot accommodate early arrivals.)
- Orientation for all students and faculty: 6–6:30 pm
Stanley Kunitz Common Room
- Preliminary class meeting: 6:30 pm. Assigned classrooms.
- Welcome BBQ 7-8 pm
MONDAY-FRIDAY (DAYTIME)
MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY (EVENINGS)
- Faculty readings, slide talks, 7:00 pm. Faculty will read or show slides of their work.
THURSDAY (EVENINGS)
- Student potluck barbeque, 5:00–6:15 pm. A late-week mixer, open to all
students, faculty, and friends. We supply the grills and the charcoal—you bring
food or drink to share.
- Studio visits, 6:15–7:00 pm. Visual art studios are open to view student works-in-progress.
- Student readings, 7:00–9:00 pm. Student writers are given an opportunity to read one page of their work. Faculty are not required to attend.

SATURDAY
- Check-out for residential students by noon.
EVENTS
A FAWC Events Schedule for the week of your workshop will be available on Sunday evening when you check in. Provincetown is a vibrant community with much to offer, including a unique natural environment and an exciting cultural history. You will find art galleries, theater, shops, dance clubs, whale watch trips, dune tours and live music. The Provincetown Art Association and Museum was recently renovated to world class status and is a must-see. The new library, now housed in the old Heritage Museum/Chrysler building is also worth a visit. Contact the Chamber of Commerce (508-487-3424;
www. ptownchamber.com) to find out what’s happening for the week(s) you’ll be in Provincetown. Carnival Week is scheduled for August 17-23; the Work Center auction is slated for Saturday, August 16.
